Babies Make Me Happy
Tiffany visited from VA Beach and brought pretty Lynnea Pearl with her. I'd never met Lynnea before. What a treat: sweet disposition and beautiful face. Can I have one?

Mystery Tree
These trees are on the corner of 400 E. and 100 N. in Provo, and I love to jog past them in the mornings. Finally, after wishing I had a camera with me several mornings in a row, I just did it. I ran back home, got my camera, ran back, and spent ten minutes snapping photos. Am I crazy or what?
They are clearly old by their height. They have large heart-shaped leaves and small white flowers that resemble irises. They also have long, brown pods that hang down after the flowers have dropped. Their main branches shoot almost straight up, but the secondary branches fan outwards and downwards, twigs pointing towards the ground. They look like they should grow in a tropical climate, but they are blooming all over Provo. And I do not know what they are called. If you know what type of tree this is, please comment. I'm on a treasure hunt!

Provo is a 10
So, in Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine for July 2008, they rated Provo as the 10th best city in the US!! Cool! I know there are lots of people who bag on Provo, but I like it. It's beautiful, and I love living here.

Manti Pageant
This weekend, I went to Manti with Amanda and Mark Lewis and Stephanie and Julianne. The drive was heavenly--rolling green hills, farms, baby cows, and sheep. I love the countryside! The Manti temple is gorgeous. It looks like a castle as you approach it from Ephraim.
The pageant was very interesting. The dramatic effect of the whole thing on the hillside impressed me, but the script needs a major re-write. Major. I think the original recording was done in the 70s. That's what it sounded like at least. And I couldn't get over the melodrama. The waving arms were too much! Ha ha. But I still say everyone should go once!

Sweet Potato Soup
Cut up one sweet potato and boil in just enough water to cover it.
Add 1 cup cut carrots.
Add 1 chicken bullion cube.
Boil until very soft.
Add one cup of broccoli and let steam until soft.
Mash all together.
Add 2 tsp. cinnamon
Add 1 cup cheese
Serve with grated cheese and a dollop of cream cheese on top.
Enjoy!
(This is what happens when you don't know what to make for dinner and just go for it!)
