Little Book Worm

Isaac loves to read and now has quite a collection of favorite books. We've been reading him the same ten or so books his whole life, and I actually think that's helped him love reading. He knows his books and he loves them:

My personal favorites are the last two. Do you have any book recommendations for us?

So fun! Another Sandra Boynton favorite of ours is "Blue Hat, Green Hat", a book about colors and a very silly turkey. When I taught a young child with autism, it was one of his very favorite books and he had the whole thing memorized. Evelyn loves it just as much as he did.

We have 4 of those same books. What a great selection! I love anything by Sandra Boynton or Eric Carle. There's a Wocket in My Pocket has always been a favorite around here. Recently the girls love a new one called "Chomp!: A Pull Tab Book".

Favorites I have used over the years with my children were:
Good Night Moon
The Runaway Bunny
Five Little Monkey
Are you My Mother? (though a bit long for babies)
Is Your Mama a Llama?

I'm surprised by Click Clack Moo, I'd've thought of that more for older kids. So I know I've given you lots of suggestions already, but here are a few others

Good Night Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann
Where is the Green Sheep? by Mem Fox
Leslie Patricelli publishes a lot of fun board books and books for toddlers (Big Little, Baby Happy Baby Sad, Yummy Yucky, etc)

My favorite book as a child was "Each Peach Pear Plum." You can get it as a board book, or as a more traditionally-published book with paper pages. I loved the rhymes, I loved the pictures...I stared at that thing for hours.

I'm so glad you asked for recommendations. These look great.

We're also fans of Boynton books, especially The Going to Bed Book. And we love Good Night Moon. We also like Lama Lama Red Pajama and How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight (not board books).

Hey! Where's Good Night Moon? This one was your absolute favorite a few short years ago :-)

Thank you everyone! I love all these suggestions! I'm definitely going to have to expand our Sandra Boynton collection based on what everyone has said. And all of you helped me add to my Amazon wish list.

I also thought it was wonderful that Leigh mentioned Each Peach Pear Plum and that Jackie mentioned Five Little Monkeys. . . because both those books were mentioned here: http://www.ateachermom.com/2012/08/20/5-fun-rhyming-books/

And I was already thinking I needed to add those to my collection!

As far as Goodnight Moon-- that was definitely a staple in my upbringing! We haven't incorporated it into Isaac's everyday reading quite yet. But there are many years of reading a head. I'm sure it will be another favorite.

Both my kids love Good Night Moon and Crocodile Beat, by Gail Jorgensen (it was given to us by a teacher who was getting rid of it, so I think they read it in Kindergarten), either way, my kids LOVE it!

I love Flip, Flap, Fly! Anything by Sandra Boynton is fun to read. Graham really loves one called "Roadwork" about construction. Then there is another favorite, as if I even need to say it, Dr. Seuss of course!
