Stress

Lately I have been stressing. For lots of reasons. But I've found that mostly it is the compound effect of many little things that tend to break me down. I know I shouldn't sweat the small stuff, but that has been my life-long battle. Any advice from all you relaxed, go-with-the-flow type people out there?

I'm not as go-with-the-flow as I would like to be, but I like your list below. Focus on the things that make you happy and let everything else slide.

I know they always say to not sweat the small stuff, but sometimes I really think that's hard when life is all about the little things! I don't know what little things are hard for you to let go of, but one thing that has been hard for me is my own self-expectations of what I "should" get done. I use to have my days planned out with what I wanted to accomplish everyday, but then I would always feel like I failed when there was something that didn't get done. I changed it into a running to-do list. I finish when I finish. It's never really done because new things are always added. But then I always do the most important things first and go from there. Then, when life happens, I'm not upset that I didn't finish X, Y, and Z all in one day.

Julie and Elizabeth-- I like what both of you said. I'm trying to simplify my life-- and lower expectations. And I'm feeling much better. :-) Thanks for being such great friends!
