1 cup butter (melted)
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
2 cups chocolate chips
Cream melted butter and sugars. Add other stuff. Bake at 350 for 10 min.
This recipe is traditional, but it really makes the best cookies-- much better than the recipe on the back of the chocolate chip package. My sister KaRynn got it from her friend Jessica.

Miss you, Sarah.
I tried these out the day of the Rose bowl and the Baker boys gobbled them all up - thanks for the post!!
Yay! I'm glad you liked it, Megan. And miss you too, Kelli!
By the way, I just did something with this dough that was amazing! I used it to make Snickerdoodles! I didn't change the dough recipe at all except leave out the chocolate chips and then roll them in cinnamon & sugar. My roommate hates the Cream of Tartar in Snickerdoodles, so I decided to make regular cookies and see what happens. They were amazing!
I am in the middle of revising this recipe. I like it better when you cut both sugars to 3/4 cup or even less. And I like to substitute the majority of the flour with whole wheat flour. To me, these cookies actually taste BETTER this way. More nutty and less aftertaste.
oops! This is actually Sarah.
An update on this recipe: cut the white sugar down to 1/2 cup. I think they are even better!!
