I ran a 5k for the first time with Georgia, Anne, Kiersten, Olivia, Alvin, and Bailley. My goal was to finish and have fun-- and I did, in 33 minutes. After, Ben Bascom said I should write a poem so I did. Here it is:
5K Song
Arms pump, feet pound up pavement.
Lungs: in, in,
Out--
In, in,
Out.
And down, shins stress, elbows swing.
Lungs: in, in,
Out--
In, in,
Out.
Forward--knees kneading morning air.
Lungs: in, in,
Out--
In, in,
Out.
And then--chest opens, hips loosen, eyes brighten.
Lungs: in, in,
Out--
In, in,
Out.
Sing strenth.

Great job! I wish you were going to be in UT when I visit--I would love to go running with you.
Nicely done my friend - I am so impressed with you! I have never done a 5K....looks like I need to get on the ball. Are you visiting Cali any time soon?
English is truly your calling, my friend. You know, I was thinking the other day that I wish I looked at the world the way you do. Eloquent poems and statements like "My unexpected discoveries of Beauty and Delight," painting, running, stopping to take pictures of leaves. It's all so earthy! I love it!!! I don't suppose this is something you could teach me, is it?
Ha ha! Kelli, your comment made me laugh. You call it earthy. My family would probably call it crazy. Yes, I live life in bursts of passion. But the rest of it is pretty average Jane. :-)
